Bill, Hello, my name is Joel and these are pictures I took on my trip up to Iowa to look at a boat. Happened to come across these and I thought you would like to see. After talking to them they said they were from Minnesota and all were headed down to New Orleans. There was a total of 4 boats but only saw 3. Well here you go, its a site to see and the last one is made out of a skate board half pipe. I got a huge kick out of it along with the rest of my family that was with me. Joel
RiverBill says...Thanks for the pictures Joel. Lets watch for these boats as they pass through our area. |

Came across 2 people on beat up pwc half sunk/drunk and possibly on drugs, drug them to sand
bar. Owner came walking down sandbar chewed them out, never said thanks or
anything. Where's water patrol when you need them ! Down river 1/2 mile pulling some other boat over for no
reason that I could see. Some people don't have any common SENSE!!

The steamboat "Zebulon M. Pike" arrived in the city of St. Louis on July 27, 1817, thus starting the Steamboat era. Rapids in the Mississippi River north of the city made St. Louis the northernmost navigable port for many large boats. The city was quickly transformed into a bustling boomtown, commercial center, and inland port Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_St._Louis,_Missouri |

Pruitt caught the fish on May 21, 2005 and it died en route to a Cabela’s retail store in Kansas City, Kan. where it was going to be put in a large aquarium for public display. According to a Cabela’s product manager, the company paid for replicas to be created by a taxidermist company in Duluth, Minnesota for Pruitt and other recipients, "but it would not pay to ship the replicas to their recipients." |

As most of you know, Jimmy Buffet once said.... "There's a little pirate in all of us"
So I thought I would include some information on the St. Louis Pirate Festival. It has nothing with the river, but if you interested...... it will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, September 15th - 30th at the Rotary Park, Wentzville, MO.
Click here for more information on the festival. It's a historical thing.
Just for fun click here to learn how to talk like a pirate, for some pirate pick up lines and more. Aaaargh!! |
