OIL CONTAINERS...

Hey Bill

Can you get the word out, that if any farmers, Marinas, or shops need clean, neat appearing oil containers (about 270 gal) for their waste oil, I have several.

I will deliver the tanks, and then take the waste oil away when they are full.
If interested please call 636 250 4187
I burn the waste oil to heat my shop

Thanks
Little John

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jefferson City, Missouri

New Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Location

Captain Ron's Restaurant has received approval from the Missouri State Water Patrol on their application to hold the event formerly known as the Lake Rescue Shootout boat race.  After hearing presentations from three applicants on December 17th, the Water Patrol determined the safest overall location would be around the 34.5 mile mark just downstream from the Hurricane Deck Bridge.  The course will run downstream from the bridge approximately 2 miles on the southwest side of the main channel.  Provisions will be made to address concerns property owners on the southwest side of the main channel may have regarding ingress and egress from their docks during the race.  The dates requested and approved for the boat race are August 23-24, 2008.

"The layout of the course ended up being the key factor.  The course is straight and can be pushed up against one side of the channel which makes it easier to manage from our standpoint.  Ron Dugan of Captain Ron's Restaurant made contact with Staff for Life and Lake Regional Hospital to address some of our emergency medical service concerns.  Staff for Life will commit a helicopter to be on-site at the event," said Colonel Talburt.  "Safety is our priority. Out of the three applications, I believe this will be the safest location," he said.

Wappapello Lake teams with Murphy Oil to deliver safety message
The safety message in at the facility in Dexter, Mo.

Park Ranger Andrew Jefferson (left), with Murphy Oil Facility Manager Kathy Boyt, and Wappapello Lake Operations Manager Gary Stilts.

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Wappapello Lake (St. Louis District) is breaking new ground when it comes to public safety education.

We have reached an agreement with Murphy Oil Corporation to place scrolling safety messages on their gasoline pumps during this holiday season and the 2008 summer recreation season. The dual message is simply:

“Buckle Up!
Life jackets and seat belts
SAVE LIVES!”

Their facilities are located at Wal Mart stores in southeast Missouri (West Plains, Houston, Mountain Grove, Fredericktown, and Dexter). Remember – we all have loved ones and one fatality is one too many.

If you are interested in partnering with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in promoting safety on our waterways and highways, please feel free to contact Park Ranger Andrew Jefferson at (573 222-8562).

Bill,
This is me on the Meramac in Fenton near our house. I'm on a 20 year old "Sail-board" that I found at a second hand shop. I may even take it up on the Mississippi this summer. As expensive as gas is, I'm sure glad to have water-toys that don't use any. I'm starting to see more kayakers than powerboats some days.

Hey There Bill,

This is a photo that Maribeth and I snapped out here today.(Sat 12-17) ....

We had to break a little ice to get out of the marina.

We cruised around the islands and saw approx. 35 Eagles.

Thanks,

Cap't Glenn

River Bill says.......What a great shot of such a magnificent bird....Thanks Glenn.

We are sure lucky to have the river so close, it's a great place in the Summer and in the Winter too.  Eagles are such beautiful birds and they are right here for our viewing all Winter long.  Great photo !
